What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is a science based on personal responsibility in which lifestyle is the foundation of health. The three most important pieces of information in Ayurvedic medicine are:
1. The constitution of the patient;
2. The present nature of the patient including any imbalances, and;
3. The nature of the medicine.
THE CONSTITUTION
(prakruti)
The constitution or prakruti refers to the balance of the three doshas (vata, pitta, kapha) in the body at the moment of conception. Each of us has our own unique balance or percentages of the three doshas in our bodies and mind. We cannot live without any one of them.
