Marmora Massage & Rejuvenation Center

Where does the word Marmora come from?

When I began my healing journey, my instructor asked me to choose an appropriate name for my business. At the time I was living in Tucson, Arizona which is a progressive city for holistic health, spas and educational centers. Every name I thought of was taken, so I decided just to name my business after the street I lived on. My mentor then asked me to research what "Marmora" meant, and amazingly, the meaning holds true.

Marmora means "marble sea" or as the ancient Greeks called it Propontis. It is the inland sea that connects the Black Sea to the Aegean Sea separating Turkey's Asia and European lands. The ancient Greek warriors used the sea as a rehabilitation and relaxation spot for their war-torn muscles and battle wounds. Ancient healers would be on sight to lend their hands in massage and herbal treatments as well.

I no longer live in Tucson, but my expertise and the name "Marmora" remains with me. When I relocated to Peoria, Illinois, I began my massage practice again, but have continued my education in Ayruvedic medicine, adding the rejuvenation to the business. I welcome you to "Marmora Massage & Rejuvenation Center" in hopes that you will find rehabilitation and recovery from life's everyday stresses.

What to expect...

Prior to receiving the massage, an initial client interview should be taken that includes a thorough evaluation. This ensures that the practitioner is aware of any of the client’s physical conditions and that the client also feels comfortable with the therapist’s form of treatment discussed. A consent form is signed after the discussion to ensure that you receive the treatment discussed.

Your first massage...

After you have had the initial intake form, the therapist will step out of the room so that you can undress to your level of comfort. Some people will leave their under garments on and others will fully undress and remain under the sheet during the massage.
